CfA: Youth on the Move: Reframing and Representing Youth Migration, South Africa, April 2018

The Anthropology of Children and Youth is thrilled to co-sponsor Youth on the Move: Reframing and Representing Youth Migration, an interdisciplinary conference at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. On April 11, 2018, we will hold a workshop for emerging scholars and on April 13, 2018, we will hold an international conference. Please see the CFP for additional details. CfP: Culture, Commitment and Care across the Life Course, Oxford UK 08-09 June 2017

Oxford Brookes University will host the 10th Biennial AAGE Conference on the theme Culture, Commitment and Care across the Life Course. This two-day conference is organized in partnership between the Association of Anthropology, Gerontology, and the Life Course and members of ACYIG, and will focus on bridging themes between youth and old age, intergenerational relationships, and life course development from anthropological perspectives. It is of particular interest to students, scholars, and professionals interested in new perspectives on ageing and care in social gerontology, anthropology, sociology, social work, medical humanities, childhood studies, and public health.

Prominent childhood scholars to present at SCCR 2017

AYCIG members are invited to the 2017 Society for Cross Cultural Research Conference in New Orleans, LA.  The keynotes will cover topics as diverse as the socialization of infants around the world, sex, evolution, and the end of male supremacy, and cultural styles of leadership.
