The Anthropology Department at Sonoma State University is very pleased to announce that it is hiring an Assistant Professor in Cultural Anthropology, with a starting date of mid-August, 2017.  The geographical area or subfield is wide open, but we’re really looking for someone interested in applied research, and developing research opportunities for students.  The closing date for this position is November 16.

We invite people from all disciplines, professions and vocations to come together in dialogue, to provide a space and a level of legitimacy for a subject, or subjects that is traditionally seen as unimaginable, a socially taboo and even associated with pathology, by providing a forum for ideas and arguments that might otherwise not receive adequate attention and discussion. AYCIG members are invited to the 2017 Society for Cross Cultural Research Conference in New Orleans, LA.  The keynotes will cover topics as diverse as the socialization of infants around the world, sex, evolution, and the end of male supremacy, and cultural styles of leadership.
